Sketchbook Works

I love working in my sketchbook, its the place where I put down my ideas, write out my thoughts and plan the work I want to create. Here are some images from my most recent sketchbook, the pages will give you an insight into my inspirations and the way I work.

Developing My Glass Etchings Instillation

I've been developing my glass etchings, here are a few images of how I want to display them. I love the mix of shadows with the glass images, I hope to get lots of glass together to make a much bigger instillation...

Badgey Badgeness!

Here are some badges ive been making with my awesome badge maker (the best present ever!) Ive used any old scraps of fabrics, paper, maps and stamps to make them! I particularly love the old script text and the one made from a stamp, all the way from Hong Kong! Im hoping to make more, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates soon! :)

A peek of my own photograms and voile mittens

These aren't the best pictures in the world of my work, but I hope they show the sort of things I have been working on, I'm hoping to develop the voile mittens in some way, perhaps by stitching onto them? Keep posted for some better images and developed ideas!

Some new work...on glass

I've been recreating the same images that I created using the photograms method, on glass. I love the shadows created and the fragility of the images, the hanging glass also looks quite procarious, which I love too, even though they are totally safe!

Developed 'Business Cards'

Ive been doing a bit more work on some of the orignal business cards I made, by adding buttons to them. I'm a collector of many a thing, buttons being one of them, so I have plenty to use up!

Plaster 'Photograms'

These images are inspired from my research into photograms. After creating my own actual photograms, I wanted to go back to using materials I am more familiar with, mainly plaster. The garments in the images are of baby mittens and cardigans, I hope to evoke an eerie sense childhood and childhood memories.

Photograms

I have been researching photograms for my current project...I love their ghostly appearance, I've started to make some of my own too....Updates soon!
